Brilliant light in the summer for photographers and painters.

The views are excellent and otters, seals and other wildlife can be observed from the window.

Accomodation and Construction

Soundly constructed from larch poles and weatherboards, the house will sleep four (two couples) comfortably in upstairs accomodation. There is also a caravan which will sleep two.

Heating and cooking

Heating is by a solid fuel Rayburn (coal and peat provided). In addition to the Rayburn which may be used for baking and hotplate, there is a two-ring gas stove.

Washing and Toilet facilities

There is hot and cold running water and a bath. You don't need to burn much coal to have hot water that needs to be used up! The toilet is a compost-type and is in a separate building.

Electricity and Telephone

12v electricity for lights, music etc. is available via a windmill and battery. There is also an inverter for running small 240v appliances though I must stress that in the event of a calm week this would be limited. There is a landline telephone available if required and Vodaphone and Cellnet mobile phones can obtain reception from the place.

Miscellaneous

There is also a cupboard filled with staple foodstuffs such as flour, pulses, cooking oil, tinned items etc. Vegetables may be available from garden in season or bought from neighbours.

Cost

The cost of renting for a week would be £100 for two people, this includes all coal, gas, bedding. For different time/people configurations please email to discuss.
